Painting with a passion

Rachel Gordon Bernstein is a painter working in water color and oil, drawn to the quiet drama of everyday light — a wheat field at dusk, vessels on a wooden table, a reader lost in a book by the window.

Her work moves between landscape, still life, and interior scenes, united by a warm, earthy palette and an unhurried way of looking. She paints slowly, often returning to the same subjects across seasons, letting each canvas settle before calling it finished.

She works from a sunlit studio, taking a small number of commissions each year alongside her own body of work.
